Position Summary
The Group Leader will be an experienced and energetic individual who will provide supervision tto the Summer Rising classes and support the program curriculum. The Group Leader will facilitate activities including, but not limited to: homework help, arts and crafts, sports, health and fitness, nutrition, dance, and STEM education.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants through active supervision during all program activities.
- Support Group Leaders in supervising, engaging in, and facilitating recreational and enrichment activities for youth and families.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for participants in the Summer Rising Program.
- Assist in implementing a variety of age-appropriate, theme-based activities that promote engagement and learning.
- Help support academic enrichment by assisting with lesson plans and guiding students in their educational growth.
- Assist with the distribution and collection of parent surveys and program feedback.
- Collaborate effectively with peers, professional staff, and other departments to ensure smooth program operations.
- Maintain program equipment, storage areas, and inventory to ensure organization and safety.
- Work closely with program administration to uphold high-quality programming and best practices.
- Assist in maintaining accurate program documentation, including attendance, incident, accident, and behavioral reports.
- Communicate with the Program Director regarding any challenges or unfamiliar situations to ensure proper support and resolution.
- Actively participate in all required trainings, meetings, and special events throughout the summer program.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Program Director and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate professionalism by completing all assigned responsibilities and using work hours productively.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- The Group Leader should be a college student who is a certified matriculating college attendee. The college students will be responsible for the implementation of the diverse activities that will be offered to our program participants.
